Maximizing through contextualizing - our take on Mixed Use projects

When we step into the shoes of the viewer, imagining what would capture their attention, inspire them and answer common questions, we often come back to the need of contextualizing the project. Context is of course about what happens around the building, but it's also about how the building itself sets the context for the tenants experience. In this edition of The Inspiration we are proud to share two fantastic mixed use projects and how their unique features are maximized using context. Don't miss the compilation of vignettes at the end!
Project Spotlight: The Burlian

Located in a prime position in Mayfair, The Burlian offers access to London's most exclusive eateries, green spaces, and galleries, as well as the eclectic character and charm of neighboring Marylebone, Fitzrovia, and Soho.

The retail space can easily and effectively accommodate different operations as shown in the different fit-outs,
while providing illumination during the dark hours of the day.

To set the tone and level of ambition for the office space we used the building's striking archway and double-height reception area, enhanced by carefully selected materials and an architectural attention to detail.

The Burlian has a focus on sustainability and is targeting WELL Platinum certification, and also features club-style amenities such as cycle storage and thoughtfully designed changing rooms. This not only enables a sustainable operation for tenants on a company level but also promotes a sustainable lifestyle for individual co-workers.
The six floors of flexible workspace are ideal for modern, forward-thinking businesses.

Project Spotlight: BEAM
BEAM is a mixed-use high-rise landmark in Keilaniemi, located 15 minutes from Helsinki city center and 30 minutes from the airport. The area is a symbol of the Finnish economy,
technological know-how, growth, and international presence.
Offering stunning views that stretch over Keilaniemi's evolving area, local parks and the sea, nature is an inherent and significant aspect of BEAM. The interior design elements revolve around wood, light, and the sea, seamlessly blending the natural world with the urban environment.

The building is designed and built to level Excellent as per the BREEAM environmental certification system and commuting by bike is nudged in many ways, including good staff facilities and bike parking.
BEAM is the perfect location for companies that want to be in the middle of a growing urban environment while having easy access to culture and technology.

Thank you, NCC, for giving us the opportunity to be part of this chapter of Helsinki and a truly special project!
